In July 2014 the IRS created a streamlined application (Form 1023EZ) process for small nonprofits. This new process requires less paperwork and must be filed electronically which helps with turnaround time, which is usually 2- 6 weeks

Who is NOT eligible for the new Form 1023EZ:

Schools, Colleges, Universities, Hospitals, Medical Research
Credit counseling organizations
Organizations with budgets or proposed budgets over $50,000
Organizations with assets more than $250,000
Foreign organizations
LLCs
Successors to for-profit organizations
